India has always been at the forefront of using traditional medicine. It was a familiar sight in olden days to practice Ayurveda, siddha medicine in every house-hold. With an advent of modern medicine, Ayurveda and other ancient medicines have lost their charm. Amma Jyothirmaye highlights the need to revive the ancient medical science and recommends traditional remedies. She also emphasizes that the modern medicine is laudable and should be welcomed for diseases that need an immediate attention. Also, traditional medicine should be embraced and need to be made as an integral part of health care. Indians should not forget that Ayurveda has a long, rich history and known to have fewer side effects unlike modern medicine.
